TINY TALL KITCHEN - INNOVATIVE KITCHEN FOR A SMALL SPACE

A large central London apartment in a prestigious mansion block, Russell Square Mansions. The apartment has high ceilings, grand proportions and some fine interior joinery, but featured a neglected and challenging kitchen.

Super narrow, with a maximum width of 2.5m and a generous 3.2m ceiling height, the brief required the design of a kitchen to make the most of this space. We immediately chose to celebrate the unusual proportions. Cabinetry runs up to ceiling level, enjoying the height and maximising storage. The fireplace was an immovable challenge we enjoyed - we’ve slotted-in a pivoting dining and working table for maximum flexibility. The kitchen is birch plywood, faced with Fenix, with solid surface counters. The retro pine flooring offers warmth to the space while keeping the to a modest budget.

A great collaboration with a super engaged client and cabinetmaker Mike Robinson. We coordinated the trades on this job. A challenging role in a central London apartment building.
